Is Decompression Safe?

We have been providing spinal decompression in downtown San Francisco for over 13 years. During this time we have performed over 25,000 spinal decompression sessions to a wide variety of patients. We have never had a patient that was seriously injured while undergoing spinal decompression.

Sure, some patients get sore. In fact, we tell everyone to expect some soreness. After all, the treatment is physical. However, there are built-in treatment mechanisms to minimize soreness and increase the odds of a favorable outcome. For one thing, we always start off very light and easy. We then increase the intensity each day until we reach the maximum treatment intensity. This may take a few weeks.

In addition, the spinal decompression machine has a built in biofeedback mechanism that senses the patients muscular response to the treatment and makes adjustments to the pull based on this information. The machine we use is the DRX-9000. We also have onsite therapists and doctors that closely monitor the process to ensure maximum comfort and safety.

Since spinal decompression therapy is 100% natural, there are no drugs, needles, injections, or surgical procedures to be concerned with. It’s all about the machine, rehabilitation exercises and home care. Response rates are excellent. Yes, it’s possible to get really sore from the treatment or to just not like it for some reason, but these things are the exception and not the rule. You are never locked into the treatment plan. If you don’t like it you can quit.  It’s that simple.

So, if you are suffering with lumbar or cervical disc herniations or bulges, or even spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease, you may be a candidate for spinal decompression.
