Decompression

What happens during a decompression session?

Spinal decompression machines are designed and built to treat lumbar and cervical disc bulges and herniations naturally. The machine we use is the DRX-9000. We chose the DRX-9000 because it is very comfortable for the patient. In fact, most fall asleep during treatment.

The typical spinal decompression treatment protocol is 20 one-hour sessions done over a period of 6-8 weeks.

Decompression for the Neck

Neck pain is very common. Chronic neck pain, which is neck pain that persists for over 90 days, may be caused by a herniated or bulging disc. If so, it's not the end of the world and gentle chiropractic can usually help.

Decompression Response Times

Herniated disc patients always want to get better quickly and that is always our primary goal. In fact, most spinal decompression patients start to feel better well before they complete their recommended treatment plan (plans average 20 sessions). This does not mean they are necessarily better yet, but it does indicate the treatment is working.

Decompression and Sport Injury

We are renowned for treating sports injuries and have a team of medical doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors and support staff that is unmatched in San Francisco. We've built a reputation of providing treatment for herniated and bulging discs non-surgically using the DRX-9000 spinal decompression system, laser, and rehabilitation.

Is Decompression Therapy Expensive?

We were the first to bring the DRX-9000 spinal decompression system to San Francisco. Since then, we have helped thousands of patients return to more active lifestyles and many have avoided back or neck surgery in the process.

Typically, herniated disc patients want to know:

1. Can spinal decompression help me?

2. Is spinal decompression expensive?

Decompression at Any Age

Spinal decompression is an excellent nonsurgical, drugless treatment method for the treatment of herniated and bulging discs.  It is very gentle and safe for the most part. However, spinal decompression is physical and involves pulling and stretching.

Is Decompression Safe?

We have been providing spinal decompression in downtown San Francisco for over 13 years. During this time we have performed over 25,000 spinal decompression sessions to a wide variety of patients. We have never had a patient that was seriously injured while undergoing spinal decompression.

Decompression or Surgery?

Spinal Decompression has become the gold standard for the nonsurgical treatment of herniated and bulging discs that are unresponsive to conventional treatments such as chiropractic, medical care, physical therapy or acupuncture.

Spinal decompression machines such as the DRX-9000 are able to successfully treat disc herniations in the cervical and lumbar spine non-surgically.  This makes a lot of sense for those that do not want to have back or neck surgery. The treatment is very safe and gentle and success rates are high.
