Steve Moreno, MS, ATC, earned a B.S in kinesiology from Cal State Northridge in 1998 and became a Certified Athletic Trainer that same year. He stayed on as the grad assistant and worked with women's basketball and volleyball exclusively, while providing training room coverage for 19 other Division I teams. He began his professional baseball career in 1999, at the rookie ball and Class A levels as a minor league athletic trainer for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He helped key role players with their rehabilitation who went on to bring a World Championship to Arizona in 2001. A change of scenery in 2002 allowed him to split the day between outpatient sports medicine clinics in the morning and athletic event coverage at local Southern Californian high schools in the afternoons. He returned to minor league baseball in 2005, served two years at the Class AA level for the Florida Marlins and was selected to the prestigious Arizona Fall League as an Athletic Trainer in 2006. In total, over 30 of his players have gone on to reach the major leagues. This Long Beach native enjoys competing in triathlons, mountain biking, golf, and cooking.
